I would like some clarification about the reconnecting of PPPOE and dyndns IP update on DSL failure.
I know that there is a script daemon that every "tot" sec. (default 600) check the dynamic ip dns service configured on the system. This is started by rc.ipupdate in /etc/rc.d/pkgs/.
For a strange reason on my system this daemon sometime not work properly and no check IP (if you type ps -e you see it running, but it do nothing).
For this, i wolud like to start the ipupdate every time that the system reconnect the PPPOE after DSL failure, but I have not clear how the system done reconnession ...
Who make the reconection ?? Is made automaticaly by the pppd ? I must parsing the log for understand when the reconection is occurred ?
Thank in advance,
Emilio
