Maximum connections using Squid

Mensagempor scotts4050 » Sex Ago 22, 2008 2:55 am

Hello,
I have a small WISP (apx 25 customers.) I am using manual class QOS (different customers pay for different speeds.)
I want to limit the maximum connections that any one IP can have open. I am currently running BFW 2.31final with Squid.
I do not want to block any ports or protocols, just limit open ports so that P2P does not kill my BFW. I have my Squid
set to Enable Squid = Yes; Proxy Type = Manual; Active Max Connect = 125. No other modifications have been made.

Is this all I need to do to limit max connections? Or is there more I need to do?
Is 125 a good amout of connections? Internet seems to run fine on my client machines.
As my client base grows, will this need to be changed?

Thank you.

My BFW machine has 2.8GHz P4, 768MB ram.
