Introduction to BrazilFWBrazilFW is a Linux
Firewall and
router that runs on older standard PC hardware. The older hardware BrazilFW runs on is stil several times as powerful as commercial small/home office firewall products.
The main purposes of BrazilFW are:

BrazilFW RequirementsBrazilFW runs in any old 486 with at least 16Mb of RAM. You do not need a HD, as it fits to a single floppy but you can use one if you wish to. If you install the system to a HD it will boot faster and you can add some advanced functions like Http cache.
To get a working network with BrazilFW, you need to have an Internet connection, a switch/hub/access point, and the appropriate Ethernet cabling to connect everything.
Also, you need to think about what ports and protocols you want to be passed through from the Internet.
BrazilFW is based on the former
Coyote Linux floppy firewall/routing system.

Requisitos para rodar o BrazilFW BrazilFW roda em um velho 486 "DX" 66 (sx pra baixo não) com pelo menos 16Mb de memoria. Você não precisa de HD, mas se desejar, pode naturalmente intalar numa hd, que alias é muito recomendado em termos de confiabilidade/velocidade.
Além disso, o Squid está 100% estável pra uso, e somente numa hd.
Para colocar o BFW pra rodar, você precisa de um link com a internet, um switch/hub/access point, e cabeamento apropriado para ligar tudo.
