Lynx add-on - is it possible ?

Mensagempor wcharysz » Dom Ago 13, 2006 5:15 pm

It would be really nice if BrazilFW had lynx browser. Many AP have interface over www. So in wireless networks it would be great feature to have such web browser.

I have elinks compiled for brazilfw....

It is very similar to lynxs....

if ou are interested i can give you the instrucctions to use it...

It´s an especial add-on because it is very heavy add on... 5 mb in gz mode and more than 10 mb uncompresed...

For that reason i make an especial script that install elinks in the secondary partition of your hd.

regards.

Well with a brownser you can check if the navigation is working ok....

You can configure remote acces points or other terminals... (it´s possible with putty too)...

Nathing more than that.

Hi Nachazo

I'd be grateful if You could show me how to add elinks to brazil. My server has 4GB hard disk so I'm not afraid of big files :-).

Answering to Claudio such text mode browser could improve very much administrating wireless access points from remote location as jusr Nachazo said. I tried to do port forwarding but it didn't worked. Access points discover that I'm connecting from outside network and simply reject the connection.

It would be great if this browser was an official add-on. I guess many people have similar situation like we do.

Best Regards

ok... i will search my old add-ons... I have elinks official add-on in my hd....

The bad thing is when you save it hangs at least 30 or 60 seconds to compress and save elinks.tgz....

For that reason i put elinks under my hdb especial add-on system...

I will post the link soon....

Regards.

Hello again,

I've tried to compile by myself the Elinks browser and after adding it to my Brazil 2.28 server I got an error: can't resolve symbol 'stat64' when I try to launch it. So I tried to compile Lynx and.... it works :-). The add-on is only 654 kB large (including the help files) and it runs without problems. I can forward You or Claudio the tgz file so You can test it on Your own.

(Finally I get the access to the access points on the local network :-) ).

Cheers

Congratulations!!!!

to me elinks work fine....

But maybe Claudio has a little interest to add the add-on to the official download page...

For the moment you could post a link with your add-on...

Regards.

I hope bfw 2.29 will not have this stat64 and file64 issues, as i'm adding them to our uClibc.

Hi

Thank You Nachazo :-). That was my first self-made add-on for BrazilFW. Here is the link to download the Lynx add-on I made:

http://www.geocities.com/wcharysz/lynx.tgz

As I mentioned before it's with help files built-in for easier use ;-)

Best Regards

Hi Everybody,

I've noticed that the package which I put last time may not install properly. Here is the link to the latest working Lynx I compiled http://www.geocities.com/wcharysz/lynx2.8.5.tgz It might need the add-ons libs like libncurses.tgz libpthread.tgz and libcap.tgz to work. The best is to have them all :-)
