compile problems with mail user [INACTIVE]

hello i triying to compile p3scan proxy in brazilfw....

i can´t do make install because i don´t have mail user to do the job...

it´s says:

`mail:mail': invalid group


I open etc/passwd and i have this:

root:x:0:0:root:/root:/bin/sh
daemon:x:1:1:daemon:/usr/sbin:/bin/sh
bin:x:2:2:bin:/bin:/bin/sh
sys:x:3:3:sys:/dev:/bin/sh
sync:x:4:100:sync:/bin:/bin/sync
mail:x:8:8:mail:/var/spool/mail:/bin/sh

www-data:x:33:33:www-data:/var/www:/bin/sh

in teory i have mail user in mail group... but i can do make intall...

any sugestions?

The only thing I can think of is changing mail's group id to the same as root. That is to say, replace this:

with this:

mail:x:8:0:mail:/var/spool/mail:/bin/sh

Be careful, unfortunately I don't know if for any reason this operation may turn your system unusable.
