bfw kernel were taken from kernel.org (of course) but it has a few patches applied.
They are all available inside the build tree

you just download the kernel you want, apply the patches and rebuild.
The most importat patch is the one that enables the boot from a tared-gziped root (our root.tgz).
Besides this is just a matter of patch-o-matic and l7-filter

Which kernel do you want to use and why?

Well i´m using right now with debian a 2.6.17 kernel...

Yes it´s a big kernel... 9 mb...

But with a hard disk this size couldn´t be a problem...

2.6 kernel offers nice netfilterfeatures like classify, conlimit, pysdev, and others...

Other advantage it´s i can get more hardware compatible at the same time...

Support for ATA 66, 100 and 133 with UDMA... (more speed for squid).

Another point... is that if I can get my own kernel, I will Test a lot of nice features of patch o matic wihtout disturb you...

But nachazo, if you dont't mind, post here yours results!
I agree with you, now we don't have space problem, and lately we are adding many funcionalities to it.
And the more we add, the more we need kernel's advantages!

Cheers!

My guess: i will find a lot more problems like this. I'm pretty sure you will need to rebuild all the bfw. :(

What should i do?

I have no ideia. Sorry.
Try to see of 2.6 needs it, maybe the official kernel has this feature already.

Another question... how can i apply this kind of patch and where is the option that i select in make menuconfig? (i never aplied .diff patches before)

To apply a patch. Go to the kernel folder and type something like this:

patch -p1 < /folder-where-the-patch-is/patch-name.diff

Some patches add a few options to menuconfig, some don't...
