how check then squid work properly?

i make install squid.

config:
-transpernt
-hd cache
-log cache
-max file size 5MB

and now, how i should check the squid, i make like that,
my ex.
go to website, download some file aprox. value 4MB,
i go to cache folder, and i see the file is cache
but when i try download the same file from other PC, the speed downloading its the same like internet conection.
It should be Lan speed aprox. 100Mbits.
Celeron 1200, 256 Mb, 20 Gb HDD. 10" LCD.
Squid, Simon, QOS, IPacc, HDDparm.

That´s not true.

Squid only save files on your hd when the file is cacheable.

Not every file on your hd wil be used on the next downloads.

You need to see access.log to see the HITs made from squid.

Code: Select all
tail -f access.log | grep HIT


and stay wainting some lines with HIT. That´s a file cached and sent from your squid

Another things is to send files at 100mb on your network. Try searching the word "Zero Penalty Hit" on brazilfw.com.br and google.com/linux
